There are a lot of reds in that jar. It almost looks like it could be from a Valentine stitch. The reds are from my current stitch, Maple Leaf by AAN. Here's my progress on it.
The remainder of the orts are from my first finish of 2013. This one was started in Dec. 2012 and I had hoped it would be finished by year's end which is why the date stitched reflects that. It's called Let Every Heart and is from Heartstring Samplery Joy to the World.
The box containing the date was supposed to be stitched in Ecru but it wouldn't have shown up on the piece so I swapped it out for DMC 842. I might try tea dying this piece this weekend. I'm a little nervous about it since it's the first time I've tried anything like this.
Then I'm hoping that perhaps it will be finished into a wall hanging or perhaps a larger pillow.
My little snowman in my ort photo states Let it Snow but I think we've already had enough in our region. Around a metre of snow (3 ft) has already fallen since mid December. Our temps are starting to warm up some and it's slowly melting but our winter is far from over. I'll leave you with some photos of my family taking advantage of all that snow on two outings, one is toboganning and the second one is snow tubing. Looks like fun!
Good times, sledding. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish, such a nice pattern.
Lovely finish! The sledding looks like great fun! I guess deep down I wish we'd get a little snow, at least once this winter, but not that much!!
ReplyDeleteGreat snowy pics, Lynn! I envy you your snow. I never thought I'd miss it so much but this year it's just struck me that I miss the magic of snow. Not the driving in it bit, mind you, but the pretty serene-ness of it. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish!! I love that design. Nice progress on your maple leaf, too.
Looks like a perfect sledding day!
ReplyDeleteYour finish is gorgeous, Lynn! I love the colors, and even your red ORTs in the TUSAL jar is just so vibrant and pretty.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish! And I wish you luck in your attempt at tea dying it. I've never tried anything like that either and look forward to hearing about how it goes for you. AAN is looking great too! I love the red you chose. :)
ReplyDeleteYour finish looks wonderful, looks like your family had some fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your stitchy projects!! And the snow fun looks, well, like snow fun!!!
ReplyDeleteA pretty finish by one of my favorite designers! And I love the red maple leaf! Enjoyed the snow pictures. I would love to play in the snow even at my age, but it seems we never really get enough to play in. :)
ReplyDeleteLynn-

Nice! Your maple leaf is going to be really pretty. No snow here, but it is chilly.
ReplyDeleteOh, my that is a LOT of snow, Lynn!! I can't imagine... We've only had about 8 inches this winter and now just have a dusting on the ground.
ReplyDeleteYour new finish is so pretty! Good luck if you decide to tea-dye it--I would be too scared, I'm afraid!! And your Maple Leaf is gorgeous in that red...
Enjoy your day, my friend!
