An Award

Thank you so very much to Andrea for nominating me for this award.

Here's how the award works. The rules are simple.

1. You must accept the award.

2. Thank the person who gave you the award.

3. Add a link to the person who gave you the award.

4. Paste the award on your blog.

5. Write 10 things about yourself that others might not know.

6. Pass the award on to 10 others.

Okay so here goes:

10 things you might not know about me

1. I play the flute, although it's been some time since I've had it out of its case.

2. I love olives. I put them on just about anything like salads, chili, sloppy joes, etc.

3. I'm a big fan of science fiction movies, in fact it's possible I'm even a closet trekkie!

4. I'm a sucker for cats, any cat! I'd love to bring them all home with me.

5. I'm a carbohydrate junkie which I'm desperately trying to change.

6. I use to figure skate but I'd be hard pressed to do (or have) any kind of figure now.

7. I love receiving flowers, although DH hasn't quite clued in to that yet!

8. I'm born to shop, I come by it naturally thanks to my Mom.

9. I work in a Chemistry lab but I have a passion for forensics.

10. I sing in a church choir directed by DH and have an appreciation of choral music.

Now for the 10 blogs I like to pass this on to.

1. It's Daffycat

2. Stitching Sister

3. Aussie Stitcher

4. Squazi & The Chickens

5. Notes From Blue Hen Hollow

6. An Eye For Threads

7. Scout's Stitches

8. Kajsa's Stitching and More

9. Hooked On Stitches

10. At Brigitte's Place

I hope I haven't offended anyone by omitting them since there are many blogs out there that I read and enjoy. I've tried to put out there a lot of the new blogs I've been reading along with some familiar favourites. Also I totally understand if you are not into awards. As far as I'm concerned don't feel obligated. These awards are a way of introducing people to new blogs and stitchers out there but I know that we live in a hectic world where there's often little time for things outside of our usual routine.

  2. I just read about your deer encounter after having found your link on Crazy4Book's blog. We have a fair bit in common, including singing in a church choir. My DH is not the director although he's sings in it too. I'll be back soon.....

  3. Hi Lynn,

    I love reading people's answers
    to these questionnaires. You
    find out some pretty interesting,
    and sometimes downright amazing,
    stuff.

So we also have some things in
    common, aside from cross stitch
that is. We're both cat crazy.
    I love Science Fiction movies
too and I am definitely a
    Trekkie of long standing. I
    have no scientific knowledge
and a weak stomach, but I also
    find forensics fascinating. Well,
in books and TV shows anyways.
    Carbohydrates...mmmmmmmmm!!!!

Things we don't have in common??
    I hate olives!!! Ew!! Yuck!!!

I'm about as musical as a block
of wood, though I do sing (??)
when I'm home alone and can have the stereo blasting (to drown me out). (The cats hide). I've always wanted to be able to sing and to play the piano.

    I'd rather receive books then
    flowers. Flowers die, and Phoebe
eats them. DH hasn't cottoned on
to that yet either. He buys me
    flowers for Valentine's Day.

    Figure skating??? Wow. That's
    awesome. Me?? I can barely
walk upright in shoes. Nuff said.

Glad to hear you weren't hurt
during your run in with the deer,
and I'm also glad that the deer
seems to have survived the ordeal.
Sorry to hear about the damage to
your car though. But you're so
right, it could have been much
    worse.

    I've got that Easter pattern
by Diane Williams too and I look
forward to seeing how yours turns
    out. Love her stuff!!

Just a Flake is sooo cute. I love
that his belly is a snowflake. I
like your changes to this pattern
too. I prefer the red scarf, and
the garland on the tree really
stands out now and looks quite
    festive.

Home of a Needleworker is coming
along nicely. I love the blue that
the house is stitched in, which is
set off nicely by the white trim
    around the windows and door.

    Poor Clarisse!! What an ordeal
she (and you) had just to get her
    vaccinated. I'm no expert, but
I've never heard of anyone else
who's cat reacted that way to
    their yearly shots. Love those
pictures of her relaxing in her
new "bed" by the way. How
    relaxed can you get???

    Your Easter decorations are so
    sweet and pretty. My favorite
is that little girl bunny in the
pink hat and green sweater and
    dress. She is adorable!!!

I expect that you're in Florida
    now enjoying the bright sunshine
    and the warm temperatures. Hope
you have a wonderful time down
    there.

Better end this epic post before
it gets too much longer. CHeers!

  4. Thanks for the award Lynn. I am glad that Clarisse is all better now. I have not known of any cats to have a bad reaction to vaccinations.
I am glad that you weren't hurt when you hit the deer. We have to watch for kangaroos and wombats on our roads, they can do massive amounts of damage to cars, not to mention the horrid feeling you get after hitting something.

  5. Awww, thank you so much for the award! I appreciate it. I learned reading more about you. I need to try olives... would you believe I never have had one?! Pickles we love, olives--no. The carb junkie thing--I can totally relate!
